Overview

Capel Manor College is THE specialist college for land based studies with centres across London offering courses in Horticulture, Garden Design, Hard Landscaping, Floristry, Animal Care, Arboriculture, Environmental Conservation, Balloon Artistry and Saddlery.

We are recognized as a Beacon College. We hold Matrix accreditation for the quality of our student guidance. Our light touch Ofsted inspection in March 2008 confirmed our own self assessment as a good provider with excellent features. Capel Manor College is also recognised as a Centre of Vocational Excellence for Floristry and Business Enterprise.

Centres
Capel Manor College centres across Greater London are beautiful places to study with an inspirational atmosphere. Centres are located in Enfield, Gunnersbury Park, Regent’s Park, Castle Green and Crystal Palace Park.

Facilities
Capel Manor offer first-rate training sites including our own 30 acres of gardens and farm at our Enfield site, as well as nature reserves, country parks and private estates to practice skills and develop understanding. Students benefit from regular field visits to a range of woodland, freshwater and grassland habitats, wildlife sites and urban greenspace dependent on their course. Crystal Palace Park and the farm offers practical facilities for our Horticulture and Animal Care students. Gunnersbury Park students use facilities within the college’s walled garden and have working access to parts of Gunnersbury Park itself. Nearby Horsenden Farm provides excellent practical facilities for Arboriculture student and Brent Lodge Park Animal Centre’s facilities supports our Animal Care training programme. Regent’s Park, located within the Inner Circle of Regent’s Park, enjoys the use of St John’s and Queen Mary’s fabulous gardens.

Open access ILT facilities are available in the Frances Perry Library in the Duchess of Devonshire Pavilion on the Enfield Campus and in the Learning Resources Centres at Gunnersbury Park, Regent’s Park and Crystal Palace. All workstations have internet access. Office 2003 is the standard student desktop. The library service has a comprehensive collection of books, journals and reference materials to support our courses. Capella, the college’s virtual learning environment, provides online access to course materials, the student intranet and library catalogue, both in and out of college.
