University of Chichester

Profile

Overview

University of Chichester

The positive and rewarding environment provided by the University’s small size allows students to form lasting friendships with their peers and lecturers very quickly. The University not only offers a friendly and supportive learning environment, but an excellent mix of opportunities in a safe area where students can experience a bit of everything.

Split over two campuses, you will experience life in Chichester’s bustling, historic market town and also be able to relax by the sea at Bognor Regis. Both towns are set in the stunning county of West Sussex, on England’s South Coast.

If we haven't convinced you already, here are 10 good reasons why you should consider studying at Chichester ...

1. High Academic Standards

We have very high academic standards, having repeatedly achieved good results in inspections by Government Inspectors from the QAA (Quality Assurance Agency) and OfSTED.

2. Excellent Social Life

It's fun here! Everybody at Chichester has the opportunity to have a busy social life. The University has an active Students Union which runs loads of events, sporting activities and clubs as well as having two student bars, one on each campus. There are loads of pubs to choose from in Chichester and Bognor, as well as nightclubs, a good music scene, high quality arts events, which all add to the buzz you can feel on campus.

3. High Employment Rates for Graduates

We have a good employment rate among our graduates: over 81% find employment soon after graduating, with another 10% going on to additional study or training, including postgraduate work.

4. Friendly

We have a friendly, informal and sociable atmosphere, where it is easy to get to know people. The University is small, so our lecturers are able to know their students individually and therefore provide good support.

We positively welcome applications irrespective of ethnic grouping, religion, gender, class, age and disability.

5. Interesting Courses

We offer a wide and interesting range of degrees and other courses, and provide professional preparation for various careers. Most courses are offered on a part-time basis as well as full-time.

6. Attractive and Convenient Towns

We are based in two fairly small towns, which means that the campuses are within walking distance from their local amenities, and all students are able to feel part of a community.

7. Excellent Environment

We are fortunate to be located in a very attractive part of the country with a mild climate. The sea is only 10 minutes away, you can surf, windsurf, kite surf, dive and sail. The surrounding countryside is fabulous and there are a variety of interesting towns and cities nearby.

8. Lively, Diverse Student Population

We attract a diverse group of students, of different ages and backgrounds.
This creates a lively and stimulating environment, and all our students benefit from working and socialising in this community.

9. Excellent Facilities and Staff

We have excellent facilities for learning and research, with talented and dedicated staff who bring out the best in our students.

10. Excellent Student Success Rates

Our rates of student retention and student success rates are among the best in the country, and are well above the 'benchmark' level. With degrees of proven high quality, this shows that we also provide excellent support and guidance for all our students.
