Ffriddoedd Village

Where is it?

Ffriddoedd is our largest accommodation village and is in Upper Bangor. It's about 5 minutes’ walk from the train station and the Main University Building. The city centre is 10 minutes’ walk away.

What's on site?

There are around 1,800 rooms on the site and most of the bedrooms have private bathrooms. Kitchens are shared between 6 – 8 students.    

The village has a shop, launderettes and common rooms. This is where you will find Bar Uno café bar and Canolfan Brailsford sport centre. There is on-site security 24 hours a day and a team of mentors to help you. All bedrooms have wi-fi and the accommodation price includes all bills (including wi-fi, heating, electricity and water), gym membership and Campus Life membership.

Canolfan Brailsford Sport Centre

Canolfan Brailsford, the University's sport and leisure centre is located at Ffriddoedd. Indoor facilities include three gyms with the latest equipment, spin studios, sports halls, squash, tennis, netball and basketball courts and a climbing wall. Outdoors there are astro turf and grass football pitches.

Bar Uno

At the heart of the Ffriddoedd student accommodation, Bar Uno offers a diverse range of entertainment, hot meals and drinks, including Starbucks coffee. Open daily from 11am until late, Bar Uno is a great place to meet new people, relax and have a catch up with friends. It also has six TV screens connected to Sky Sports & BT Sports, so you won't miss out on any sporting events!

En-suite halls (newer style)

The halls below are of a similar design to each other. They’re all ensuite rooms with kitchens shared between 8 students. There is typically one large room per flat which is available at an additional cost. These blocks were built in 2007/2008 and are our most recently renovated on the Ffriddoedd Village.

En-suite halls (original style)

The halls below also contain ensuite rooms with kitchens shared between 8 students and are centrally located in our Ffriddoedd Village. These blocks were built in the late 1990s and are therefore slightly cheaper than the above halls.

Neuadd John Morris-Jones (JMJ) 

Neuadd JMJ is primarily for Welsh speaking and Welsh language learners. It has en-suite bedrooms and shared kitchens.
