Birmingham City University has been pioneering vocational education in the city since 1843. We successfully combine innovative teaching and learning, innovative student support and effective partnerships with some of the country’s leading employers.
Our commitment to developing graduates with the skills and experience employers need means that 97 per cent of our students are in employment or further study within six months of graduating (Destination of Leavers from HE survey 2016/17) – which places us in the top ten multi-disciplinary institutions in the UK.
We focus on practice-led, knowledge-based learning, providing you with access to cutting-edge facilities and real-world experience. We have around 50 internationally recognised accreditations for our courses from such bodies as the Nursing and Midwifery Council, Chartered Institute of Management Accountants and Royal Institute of British Architects.
We have invested more than £260 million in industry-standard, state-of-the-art facilities to ensure you have the best possible environment for practice-based learning.
We welcome a broad mix of cultures and nationalities, and over half of our 24,500 students come from the city or the surrounding area. There are also over 2,600 international and EU students from around 80 countries who are attracted by the social and ethnic mix of the University’s student population.Find out more
