We know that this year is looking a little different than normal. Whether you’re entering the final year of college or sixth form, are a mature learner or may have deferred your entry to university until 2021, your early research is key in helping you to find right university and course.
Joining us at an online or on-campus Open Day will give you a real feel for student life. We have also developed lots of online events including a student toolkit to help your early research, including advice around personal statements.
Students can also find out about all aspects of DMU life by signing up to the university’s live stream series.
We have also recently launched our DMU Talks series. The series will focus on a student's transition from school and college to university. Each episode is live streamed and has a panel of experienced staff, current students and DMU graduates, to provide you with invaluable insight into how to approach UCAS, choose your university and find your perfect course.
De Montfort University Leicester (DMU) is a dynamic, diverse and supportive community dedicated to helping you achieve the life, career and great experiences you want. We are committed to helping students find highly skilled work or further study, with our DMU Works programme guaranteeing professional work experience opportunities, from business insights to placements and networking opportunities. DMU has been ranked in the top 20 universities for graduate prospects in The Sunday Times Good University Guide 2020 and previous DMU graduates have gone on to win Oscars and work with organisations such as the BBC, HSBC, Nike, BMW and the NHS.
We’re proud to be ranked Gold under the Teaching Excellence Framework (TEF), the only Government-endorsed measure of teaching quality in higher education, and the TEF Panel judged that we deliver “consistently outstanding teaching, learning and outcomes for its students. It is of the highest quality found in the UK.”
Home is our brilliant city centre campus. We’ve created a £136 million 21st-century university with dramatic buildings, beautiful green spaces, and great places to socialise.
The stunning Campus Centre is the buzzing hub of student life, and a great place to meet friends, as is the spectacular Food Village, Newarke Café, Kimberlin Café and cool Riverside Café, with its strong vegan and vegetarian flavour.
We’re in the heart of Leicester, the third most affordable place for students and a city full of history and fresh ideas, great food and fun, and perfect if you love sport, clubbing or shopping. The advantages of living and working in Leicester have also been recognised by the 2019 Good Growth for Cities Index, where it is ranked in the top 10 best places for quality of life. Our students tell us it’s ‘the perfect size’ – big and historic enough to impress, yet compact, friendly and safe enough to call home.
