As a KMMS student you’ll automatically become a member of the Students’ Union at both Canterbury Christ Church University and the University of Kent. You’ll be able to access support and join clubs and societies at both unions.
You’ll also be represented through the Course Representative system, so you can be sure that your concerns are listened to and you’ll have the same opportunities as students at either university to shape your educational experience.
Canterbury is a cosmopolitan and bustling city in an historic UNESCO world heritage site. There is a thriving cultural scene with access to theatres, art galleries and a host of venues to hear live music.
Canterbury has lots of entertainment options, including pubs, bars and clubs befitting of a student city, and options to suit a student budget, too.
In addition, you will only be a short bus ride from the Kent coastline, with its attractive beaches, and an hour from London.
Clubs and Societies
As a member of the Student's Union at both campuses you’ll be able to join a wide array of clubs and societies, covering academic subjects, religions and cultural groups and a diverse range of hobbies. Plus, if there isn’t a society already representing your interests, you’ll be able to start your own!
KMMS offers a supportive, nurturing environment for its students. Your Personal Academic Tutors will be your first port of call when it comes to your academic process, but will also look out for your welfare.
All first-year medical students will be assigned a buddy, who will help you settle, and you’ll have the opportunity to become a buddy too, when you reach your second year.
The Student Support team provides a drop-in service where you can get help with clinical placements, exams and other issues.
