Our Culture of Innovation
Proud of its history of innovation that saw the Rose Bruford introducing the first university-level degree in Acting in the 1970's and the first BA (Hons) in Lighting Design in 1993, Rose Bruford College continues to push the boundaries of training in performance and technical theatre, making it one of the world's leading drama conservatoires and one of the UK's largest in terms of student numbers and the variety of its professional training options.
The College and its teaching staff foster the imagination, talents and creativity of our students, preparing them for rewarding and satisfying careers in the creative industries. Preparing our acting, design management and technical graduates for a career on stage, screen and backstage, we train some of the best talents making theatre today around the world.
Graduates work in the wider global entertainment industries at the BBC, Birmingham Stage Company, Cardiff National Theatre, Glastonbury Festival, Punchdrunk, Robe, Royal Opera House, Royal Shakespeare Company, The National Theatre and Young Vic and at festivals such as Glastonbury, The Vaults and ValleyFest. Recent placements at companies have included Arcadia, White Light and Theatre of Black Women.
