Additional info
In addition to being an excellent opportunity to find out about our specialist health and undergraduate and postgraduate degrees, our open days are structured to help you discover what it means to study at a university co-located with a hospital.
Further details
What happens on the day?
When you arrive, you will be greeted by one of our friendly student ambassadors who will complete your registration.
Whether this is your first university open day, or you’ve been to many, you will want to make the most of your time with us. For this reason, we recommend attending our How to plan your day session, which has been specifically designed to help you best plan your day.
Following How to plan your day, you can attend a range of course presentations delivered by our Course Directors and Admissions Tutors. Many of our degrees are taught by clinicians, scientists and allied health professionals who work on the front-line, so these presentations give you a chance to learn about the subjects that interest you and to hear first-hand their thoughts on building a career in science and health.
Sharing our campus with a hospital means St George’s students have access to a range of unique facilities. Our open day campus tours give you the chance to view a range of these spaces, from our recently refurbished Students’ Union to the laboratories and the clinical cubicles used to teach and test our students, and our dedicated dissection room, which gives students a firm grounding in anatomy. You can also take a look around Horton Halls, our university-owned residences, as part of an accommodation tour and see what it’s like to live away from home.
Finally, you are also welcome to attend an undergraduate or postgraduate student panel discussion, during which our current students will answer any questions you may have about life at St George’s.
