The University of East Anglia (UEA) is a pioneering British university. It leads the way in fields as diverse as climate change, social work, creative writing, international development, food science and much more. Located in the East of England, UEA is situated on the outskirts of the vibrant city of Norwich. A friendly and safe place to live. The University offers outstanding academic, social and cultural facilities to over 15,000 students (including over 3,500 international students), providing the perfect balance between academic excellence and student life experience on campus. UEA has been consistently ranked as one of the top universities for student satisfaction in the National Student Survey, as well as achieving:
- UK Top 30 (The Times/Sunday Times 2023, Complete University Guide 2023 and The Guardian 2023)
- World Top 200 (Times Higher Education World University Rankings 2022)
- World Top 50 for research citations (Times Higher Education World University Rankings 2022)
These resounding endorsements reflect the quality of our facilities, internationally-renowned academic departments and supportive and engaging staff.
UEA is situated in 200 hectares of beautiful parkland and our students seem to find the community-driven ethos of our campus particularly appealing. Virtually no part of the campus is more than a few minutes’ walk from anywhere else, including all academic departments, other institutions at the Norwich Research Park, lecture theatres, library and student support facilities, plus Student Union, Sainsbury Centre for Visual Arts and the Sportspark.
Our teaching is designed to ensure an in-depth knowledge of your subject, as well as developing the analytical, presentation, teamwork and communication skills sought by employers. A mixture of lectures, seminars, laboratory or practical classes and work placements are on offer dependent on your chosen subject. A period of time living and studying abroad forms an integral part of many of our courses.
