Proud History
Westminster has a long and proud history of delivering education and shaping professionals and was the first polytechnic to open in the UK over 180 years ago. Our historical and beautiful campus on the famous Regent Street was our first location and continues to be used to this day. Our Regent Street campus is also home to the Regent Street Cinema – the birthplace of cinema in the UK and the first in the country to show moving pictures to a paying British audience. Today it is used as a public cinema for current and specialist films and our students from Film, Photography, Fashion and many more use this as a space to premiere and showcase their outstanding work.

University of Westminster

Despite our unrivaled history we are always looking to the future to ensure the education, opportunities and learning experience we provide enable our students to succeed in today’s ever changing world.
