Established in 1893, Writtle University College has been producing leaders in the land-based industries and organisations for more than 120 years.
Writtle is one of the oldest specialist institutions in the UK and offers a range of land-based, design and sport courses at various levels of academic study including Postgraduate, Undergraduate, Further Education, Short Courses and Apprenticeships. We also provide students with the options of being able to study certain courses on a part-time basis.
Set in beautiful surroundings in the heart of Essex, our picturesque campus provides the perfect environment for learning with specialist facilities and supportive staff. Our 220-hectare estate features a working farm, conservation areas, landscaped gardens, design studios, animal, equine and stud units, as well as sport and leisure facilities.
Our courses are underpinned by innovative research undertaken by academic staff that regularly contribute to peer-reviewed journals and publish with respected publishing houses. Staff present at national and international conferences – and encourage students to publish in journals and present their research at conferences too.
Our Students’ Union ensures that everyone is welcomed and supported at the College, and ensures that there is a packed social calendar on offer throughout the year, on campus and beyond. We have a dedicated Learner Services team to help you get the most out of your time at Writtle College. Our professionally trained staff delivers financial advice and support, counselling services and study support which are tailored to your needs.
