UHI offers opportunities for a variety of undergraduate and postgraduate degrees in the field of primary and secondary education. The PGDE Primary (English Medium) (uhi.ac.uk) and PGDE Secondary (English Medium) (uhi.ac.uk) are post graduate qualifications suitable for those who already hold an undergraduate degree. consists of 18 weeks study at the university, plus 18 weeks of professional practice in schools. During your studies you will learn through a collaborate approach supported by an experienced team of lecturers. You will have the opportunity to develop your knowledge and understanding of pedagogy, curriculum and professionalism and the importance of reflection and enquiry on professional practice. The BA (Hons) Food, Nutrition and Textiles Education (uhi.ac.uk) is a 4 years honours degree aimed at those wishing to pursue a career as a Home Economics teacher in a secondary school. This contemporary programme is unique in Scotland as it combines academic study in food, nutrition, textiles and education with vocational training as a teacher in secondary schools within the four-year programme of study. The BSc Technical Education (Subject to GTCS Approval) this is a new and exciting course that is currently being developed and aimed at those wishing to pursue a career as a Technical Education teacher in a secondary school. The event will be hosted by Kat MacIntyre: Subject Leader Early Years and Education, Hayley Barnett: PGDE Primary and FNTE Module Leader and Placement Tutor and Heidi Hope: Programme Leader BSc Technical Education and PGDE and Secondary Placement Tutor.
