In addition to their course, all students can learn a language under SOAS’ Language Entitlement Programme. Languages normally available from beginners level include Arabic, Chinese, French, Hebrew, Hindi, Japanese, Korean, Persian, Portuguese, Russian, Spanish, Swahili, Turkish and Urdu.
All subjects are supported by the SOAS Library, which is one of only five National Research Libraries in the UK and one of the world’s most important academic library for the study of Asia, Africa and the Middle East, with more than 1.5 million items and extensive electronic resources in more than 400 languages.
