Many students coming to De Montfort University Leicester (DMU) will be living away from home for the first time so with guaranteed accommodation for students beginning university in 2021, we aim to find all UK and international newcomers to the DMU community somewhere they will feel safe and happy.
We offer a wide range of high-standard accommodation, with 13 halls of residence – and 4,100 rooms with en-suite options and some halls with onsite gyms – all of which are within easy walking distance of the campus and the city of Leicester, meaning everything you need is right on your doorstep.
There is a choice of mixed or same-gender flats, shared kitchen and laundry facilities, internet access and furnished bedrooms, many with en-suite facilities. Some have common rooms with Sky TV; there are also self-contained studio apartments.
All our halls are self-catered and fully furnished, with on-site or on-call security. They also have on-site managers, CCTV and/or electronic door entry systems. When you decide where you want to live, our online system makes booking quick and easy.
There is also plenty of privately rented accommodation available nearby, ranging from halls to shared houses. De Montfort Students’ Union (DSU) runs its own lettings agency, Sulets, which can help you find your perfect home.
The friendly and knowledgeable Accommodation Office team also offers advice on choosing and applying for halls of residence, paying bills, finding a place for your second year and much more. If they are unable to answer your query, they’ll do their best to refer you to someone who can.
