The Students’ Union (SU) is the place to go for student societies, social events, TOTUM cards, setting up campaigns and receiving student-to-student advice on a range of issues.
The SU hosts a wide range of student events, from club nights to charity events, at London Met's fantastic venue The Rocket, located at our Holloway campus.
Student magazine and radio
Verve Magazine and Verve Radio are the SU’s very own media outlets. Tune in online to listen to music and talk shows or pick up a copy of Verve Magazine at an open day to find out the latest culture news and reviews.
The Food and Networking Society, Anime Society, Parents and Carers Society, Music Society, Amnesty International Students Society, Pool Society – there’s a whole range of clubs to join at London Met.
Rugby, basketball, cheerleading, futsal, cricket, football, badminton, tennis and volleyball are just a few of the sports you can sign up for at London Met. The University’s teams also take part in the British Universities and Colleges Sport (BUCS) championships and the London Universities Sport Leagues (LUSL).
London Met also run a number of free fitness classes including parkour, Zumba, pilates and boxfit. Our excellent facilities include free gyms with state-of-the-art cardiovascular equipment, a full-sized basketball court, a dance studio and a fitness studio.
“Being part of sports at university is a great way to make friends for life”
Callum Morin – student
Outside of study time you can find fun in the buzzing nightlife in east London, relax in the beautiful Royal parks, munch on cheap eats in Brixton, dance to live music in Camden or explore the museums, galleries and theatres dotted all over the city.
Being based in London has real benefits – one in three new jobs created in the UK over the past decade has been in London (Office for National Statistics) and it’s where top employers are based.
In short, London is a place to explore, socialise and have fun, but it’s also a city where you can excel, progress and make huge strides forward in your career.
“It’s hard for me to picture ever wanting to be anywhere other than London. It’s got everything anybody could ever want. There are enough things to see and do to fill several lifetimes.”
Simon Cox - student
