Students’ Union
Our Students’ Union (SU) is the place to go for student societies, social events, student campaigns and advice from other students.
Student events
Our SU hosts a range of student events - everything from club nights to charity events. We even have our own venue called The Rocket at our Holloway campus.
Student magazine and radio
Verve Magazine and Verve Radio are the SU’s very own student-led outlets. Tune in online to listen to music and talk shows, or pick up a copy of Verve Magazine at an open day to read about culture, student news and reviews.
Student societies
There’s a society for everyone at London Met! Get involved in societies such as the Food and Networking Society, the Anime Society, the Parents and Carers Society, the Music Society or Amnesty International Students Society.
Team sports
Rugby, basketball, cheerleading, futsal, cricket, football, badminton, tennis and volleyball are just a few of the sports you can sign up for at London Met. Our teams also take part in the British Universities and Colleges Sport (BUCS) championships and the London Universities Sport Leagues (LUSL).
Our gym facilities and classes are free for students! We run a number of free fitness classes including parkour, Zumba, pilates and boxfit, and our gym facilities include state-of-the-art cardiovascular equipment, a full-sized basketball court, a dance studio and a fitness studio.
“Being part of sports at university is a great way to make friends for life”.

London life
At London Met, you’ll experience the real London. We’re not talking Big Ben and the London Eye (although you can do that too). We’re talking about the buzzing nightlife in east London, exploring the beautiful Royal parks, munching on cheap eats in Brixton, dancing to live music in Camden and taking in the culture at London’s museums, galleries and theatres.
Being based in London has real benefits – one in three new jobs created in the UK over the past decade has been in London (Office for National Statistics) and it’s home to some of the world's biggest employers.
London is a place to explore, socialise and have fun, but it’s also a city where you can excel, progress and make huge strides forward in your career.
“It’s hard for me to picture ever wanting to be anywhere other than London. It’s got everything anybody could ever want. There are enough things to see and do to fill several lifetimes.”
Simon Cox - student
