Northumbria University Newcastle is one of the largest universities in the UK with almost 34,000 students from 132 countries. Located in the heart of Newcastle upon Tyne and regularly voted as the top city for student life, there’s plenty to do at Northumbria. Over the past decade much of the campus has undergone significant development and renovation with over 200 million pounds worth of investment. In summer 2016, the University announced a further £52 million investment to create outstanding new facilities for students, including a new Student Central zone around the library, and new buildings for students on Computing and Information Sciences and Architecture and Built Environment courses.
Northumbria University spans over three distinct sites, City Campus, Coach Lane and then the satellite site in London. The City Campus site is just a stone’s throw away from the city centre whilst Coach Lane is located three miles further away but is supported by a free service between the main site and Coach Lane.
Over recent years, Northumbria students have benefitted from investment particularly in sporting facilities at Sport Central. Home to an Olympic Swimming pool, climbing wall and industry standard fitness suite – the site is also home to the most successful British Basketball team, the Newcastle Eagles.
