Employability is a key part of the student experience at Richmond, through curriculum design, internships and out of class leadership activities, to enhance career opportunities for students
All of our undergraduates have the opportunity to do a full-time internship for eight or nine weeks which provides credits towards their degree and gives them fantastic practical experience in the workplace
The experience can be life-changing, as one of our BA International Relations students, Miriam, explains:
“This summer I had the chance to work as a Research Intern for an MP. During my internship I learned a lot from the people I met,
worked with, or listened to. However, I also felt like I was making a concrete contribution through my work and that was extremely
satisfying. Experiencing the ‘behind the scenes’ of Parliament at Westminster and understanding better the political processes of the
country I now consider home has been truly amazing. After this summer, walking by Westminster Palace will always feel a bit special."
