Animation
Visual effects are at the core of the moving image industry - from blockbuster movies to high impact adverts. Throughout our two-year degree, you’ll learn modelling, 3D animation and motion capture to tell your story and release your ideas from page to screen.

Our renowned course places a strong emphasis on equipping you with the tools you’ll need to manipulate your creations as well as the various pre-production planning processes. You’ll also explore lighting, rendering and camera steps to bring computer generated imagery, environments and particle effects to life.

The gaming industry moves as quickly as the technology grows to create new and astounding effects. There is a real need for fresh imagination matched by technical skill to bring characters and their challenges into a gamer’s world in an immersive way.

Our course explores all facets of the game animation industry, from anatomy studies for precise character modelling to intricate textures and environments. During the course of your studies, you’ll create 3D art for games played across multiple platforms and build worlds that players want to lose themselves in.

Audio
Our graduates are employed across the audio industry and have worked with artists from Mark Ronson to Beyoncé. They are winners of Oscars, BAFTAS and Grammys.

Whether you want to work in music production, post production for film or TV, live sound, radio broadcasting, sound design, game sound or in one of the many different areas of the audio industry, the Audio Production degree gives you the knowledge and practical skills needed for a successful career.

We have been training industry-ready audio professionals since 1976 and as an SAE graduate, you’ll be joining a truly global community of alumni, mentors and potential employers.

Film
The UK film industry is thriving, and is built on the human desire to experience stories. From fantasy to real-life documentaries, there are many stories to be told and the industry is on a constant search for talented individuals with their own style and voice to tell them.

Through our hands-on curriculum, you’ll learn the technical skills as well as techniques to emotionally engage your audience and draw them into your work. You’ll also gain experience of working both independently and collaboratively on factual and fictional productions, enabling you to graduate with a highly transferable skill set.

Games
With over 33.6m gamers in the UK and with gaming accounting for over 40 per cent of the country’s entertainment industry, there is a clear need for talented games programmers. Through the deconstruction of existing games and the application of advanced programming techniques, we’ll teach you the skills to develop complex, world-based creations and bring your ideas to life.

Games programming graduates from SAE have gone on to work for blue chip organisations such as Microsoft and Bloomberg and have worked on titles including Pokémon Art Academy, Lego Lord of the Rings and GastroGnome.

Music Business
Now is a truly exciting time to be in the music business as technological advances and behavioural change present new opportunities. Through close links with the industry you’ll be inspired by guest lectures and have the opportunity to take part in masterclasses with the likes of producers, musicians, entrepreneurs and impresarios.

Current students frequently visit live music events and learn how to manage their own large scale events, providing them with the skills to excel in industry.

Web
Talented web and digital developers are in constant demand with the IT, software and computer services sector enjoying record growth levels in the UK.

As a student at SAE, you will benefit from a hands-on curriculum where you make your own websites, web applications and mobile phone apps, together with learning the development process and key roles in the industry. With a rewarding job market, you will graduate with a diverse portfolio to give you the edge to help create the future of online communication.
