Employability and work experience

Solent University

94% of Solent graduates are in employment or further study six months after leaving (DLHE survey 2018), so whatever career you’ve got in mind, the University will help you get there.

We provide more than just standard classroom teaching, ensuring that you receive work experience, make connections and graduate with a package of practical and professional skills. This is the reason why all our courses are developed in partnership with regional and national employers.

And from the moment you join the University, the Solent Futures careers service offers comprehensive information, advice and guidance. This service provides links with local and national employers, offering internships, placements, training courses and job opportunities.

Solent students have the opportunity to work with exciting and innovative student enterprises, including:

Audio Addict – Southampton’s longest running music magazine

Re:So - the first student-run retail store in the UK

Solent Creatives – The University’s own creative agency

Solent Music – Solent’s in-house work experience and employability organisation for music

Solent Productions – an in-house production company

Solent TV - commissions creative content from the students for the University's web channel
