We’re proud to be recognised for our teaching excellence. In The Guardian University League Tables 2026, we ranked 28th out of 123 institutions. Even more impressively, we’re placed 6th in the UK for teaching quality in the National Student Survey 2025 — a ranking based entirely on student feedback.
The university is based in West Sussex, with campuses in the historic city centre of Chichester and the coastal resort of Bognor Regis. The University dates back to 1839, when it was established as a college for training schoolmasters before evolving to the community-focused University it is today.
