Our accommodation isn’t just a place to live – it’s where you’ll make friends, feel supported and settle in quickly. New first-year students who make Kent their first choice before 30 June are guaranteed a place in university accommodation, with no deposit to pay. At Canterbury, we have over 5,000 rooms to choose from, so you can find accommodation to suit your lifestyle and budget.

Whether you want to cook for yourself or have a meal plan included, choose an en-suite room or share facilities with your flatmates, there’s something for everyone. All accommodation includes utility bills, Wi-Fi, personal possessions insurance and Premium Plus Kent Sport membership, making student living simple and hassle-free. You’ll also be part of a welcoming community, with activities and support from ResLife.

For postgraduate students, there’s a choice of self-catered rooms, shared houses, en-suite accommodation and studio flats, with options across Canterbury campus to suit different lifestyles and preferences.

At Medway, Pier Quays offers modern riverside accommodation just a short walk from campus. All rooms are en-suite and come with a comfortable study space, plenty of storage and access to a spacious shared kitchen with four to ten flatmates. With social and study spaces, laundry facilities, 24/7 security and a free campus shuttle stop on site, you’ll have everything you need close by. Utility bills, Wi-Fi and personal possessions insurance are included when you apply directly through the University, and contracts are available from 38 to 52 weeks.

University accommodation gives you the chance to meet new people, settle into university life and have support close to hand. If you decide that living off campus is right for you, Kent Students’ Union’s Advice Service provides free, confidential advice and guidance, while the University also offers support with finding and managing private accommodation.
