University of Suffolk has a range of accommodation options to suit students, from the purpose-built Athena Hall to accredited accommodation across Ipswich and Suffolk.
Together with established accommodation providers, we have developed Athena Hall, a new accommodation block of 590 rooms on the Ipswich waterfront.
Students have en-suite study bedrooms in cluster flats of 4-7 rooms, with a small number of studio flats also available. The accommodation has a courtyard, common room, and laundrette, with a number of shops and cafes in the ground floor of the block.
Athena Hall is managed by the Accommodation team at University of Suffolk, with priority given to first year undergraduate students.
The Accommodation office has a list of accredited providers across the university network offering a range of student accommodation, including dedicated residential units and properties in the private sector. The approved accommodation list is available to all prospective students and their families, and only includes providers that have fulfilled quality and safety criteria.
Our accredited accommodation is sited within 5-30mins walking distance of the main waterfront campus in Ipswich. This is in accordance with our Green Travel Policy, to discourage the use of private vehicles for travel to the campus. Limited student parking is available on-campus and will be restricted to those with specific requirements.
