We see your potential, we hear your ambition and we’re ready to help you succeed. Just 25 minutes North of London by train, the University of Hertfordshire offers outstanding, TEF Gold-rated teaching in a vibrant, welcoming and supportive environment, designed to take you all the way.
Over the past decade or so we’ve continuously invested in outstanding new buildings, facilities and accommodation across our two campuses, creating inspiring places where our students can thrive.
The University has a thriving campus, and our emphasis on in-person teaching will continue, combined with access to high quality online resources.
For courses starting in September 2021, learning and teaching will take place in small groups to allow for social distancing, if required, to give students the best possible learning experience.
Practical classes and teaching in specialist spaces will continue in person, following social distancing guidance. Most sessions of more than 30 will be delivered online.
High-ranking, award-winning courses
We offer a wide variety of high-quality courses in areas as diverse as law, business, engineering, psychology, education, nursing, computer science and the arts. More impressively, many of our subjects regularly jostle for top spots in national rankings. For example, the Guardian ranks us 15th for Economics and 18th for Electronic and Electrical Engineering. We’re also fast becoming a hotbed for videogame development, having been awarded No.10 in the world for Production Excellence in Games Design & Development at the Rookie Awards in 2020. The Hertfordshire Law Clinic has won two awards at LawWorks Attorney General Pro Bono Awards 2020.
Most importantly, all of our courses are taught by experts and shaped by business and industry, making them incredibly relevant in terms of the skills and knowledge you gain.
Boost your employability
Employers tell us they really value students with work experience. Our strong links with business and industry mean we’ve built placement opportunities into many of our courses, whether it’s just for a few weeks or a full year with salary. You’ll regularly find our students learning with local, national and international companies – such as KPMG, Tesla, Microsoft and GSK – often landing their first graduate role based on the success of their placement.
Many students also have the chance to study overseas for a semester, a summer or even an entire year at one of over 170 partner universities around the world. It’s an incredible opportunity to immerse yourself in a new culture, boost your employability and have a whole lot of fun while you’re at it.
Your employability is a big thing for us, so expect lots of support from our career experts for up to three years after you finish your course. They’ll help you find jobs, prepare for interviews and even launch your own business ideas. We also offer an award-winning, highly realistic mock-assessment centre to make sure you’re thoroughly prepared – whatever situation you walk into.
