Lancaster University has been named Best University Halls in the prestigious National Student Housing Awards seven times since 2010.With almost 6,800 University-managed bed spaces we are confident that we can offer you a range of high quality, safe and comfortable accommodation on our campus or in the city.
65% of our accommodation is en suite, with clusters of 6-8 students sharing a kitchen. Other types of accommodation include standard rooms, with washbasin and shared WC/shower facilities, campus 'townhouses', self-contained studios and some family accommodation. Most single occupancy rooms are available on a 40 week let.
Your accommodation fees are inclusive of utilities (heating, lighting, electricity and hot water), wired and wireless network and internet access, contents insurance and a 24-hour term time security presence. Most of our halls of residence also offer a complimentary cleaning service of communal areas on weekdays.
We are a collegiate university, which means that when you arrive on campus you’ll be welcomed to one of our eight undergraduate colleges: Bowland, Cartmel, County, Furness, Fylde, Grizedale, Lonsdale or Pendle. Each college has its own character and personality, and your choice of college will determine where you live on campus.
You can make as much of the collegiate experience as you choose but you will find that they provide a sense of identity as soon as you arrive, and their lively and close-knit communities offer a real support network during your studies.
Most undergraduates choose to live on campus during their first year at Lancaster, and providing that Lancaster University is your first choice university and you apply by the relevant deadlines, we are able to guarantee you a place. We also run Lancaster University Homes, a scheme that collects all good property managed by student-friendly landlords in the city in one place, making your home search as easy and stress-free as possible. Our website, www.lancasteruniversityhomes.co.uk is the only place to find the best city houses and halls, triple accredited by us, Lancaster City Council and the University of Cumbria.
