Campus accommodation

Lancaster offers a range of modern and comfortable accommodation options on campus to suit different preferences and budgets.

Most new undergraduates choose to live on campus in their first year and find our collegiate set up the perfect way to make friends and settle in. There are eight undergraduate colleges to choose from, breaking down the university population into smaller communities, and all accommodation is located within them. Two thirds of the accommodation we offer is en-suite but we also offer standard accommodation where students share WC/shower facilities, campus townhouses, and even self-contained studios.

All accommodation fees are inclusive of heating, electricity, wired and wireless internet, contents insurance and campus security. Most of our halls of residence also offer a complimentary cleaning service of communal areas on weekdays.

City accommodation

Most undergraduates choose to live on campus during their first year at Lancaster, and providing that Lancaster University is your first-choice university and you apply by the relevant deadlines, we are able to guarantee you a place. We also run Lancaster University Homes, a scheme that collects all good property managed by student-friendly landlords in the city in one place, making your home search as easy and stress-free as possible. Our website is the only place to find the best city houses and halls, triple accredited by us, Lancaster City Council and the University of Cumbria.
